NYSERDA Grants Available For Solar Hot Water Systems
August 10, 2011

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is offering a grant opportunity for the state's first incentive program for solar-thermal systems. The program provides incentives of up to $4,000 per site for eligible residential customers who currently use electricity to produce hot water.

As part of New York's renewable energy goals, the state's solar thermal target is to displace the equivalent of 45.54 megawatts of electrical use by the end of 2015. Incentives will be available only on approved solar thermal systems installed by NYSERDA-approved solar thermal installers. They will be granted first-come, first served, and applications will be accepted through December 31, 2015 or until the funds are fully committed, whichever comes first. For complete information, go to http://www.nyserda.org/funding/2149pon.asp .

Housing Rehabilitation for income eligible residents
April 14, 2011

The Housing Rehabilitation Program will be intended to provide assistance to homeowners to perform rehabilitation activities that are necessary to help alleviate the substandard conditions of their homes.  Only properties that are determined to be substandard are eligible to be assisted under this program.

The Town does not presently have rehabilitation funding, but returning the  application will help to demonstrate a need for funding and ensure an early position on the waiting list if a funding application were to be successful.

Please refer to the "Documents" section of this website for the handbook and application.  These may also be picked up at the Town Clerk's office.
